Challenge Habits to Help Weight loss

Over the last week i’v been thinking about the moments when we fall off the wagon.

Those moments of heightened emotion, both good and bad when our guard is down and the control leaves the room.

This is when we revert but acting from habit rather than logic.

Habits dont form over night they take months and years to embed themselves deep within. Breaking and changing those habits takes a lot longer.

The only way we can change habits is through hard work and honesty.

Being honest with yourself is one of the hardest things to do. It’s so easy to make excuses to rationalise our actions, being honest is hard and can be painful. But to change it’s vital.

In essence the picture above simply explains the process of change.

Its about capturing a habit – the thought that leads you to reach for the chocolate, cake or crisps. Recognising what makes us react.

Then understanding why we want those things, is it the sweet hit, the crunch ?

Once we understand that, we can then look at change.

Changes could include looking at swapping that high points food for something that gives a similar sensation but healthier, or looking into changing the way we react to a situation.

This may on paper seem simple but its not. It takes time and is a game of trial and error. What works for your friend may not work for you.

Dont give up though, anything is possible. Look how far you’ve come already.
